Who we Are?
We are a collection of neighbours from all parts of Gambier Island, a wilderness community, twenty minutes from Vancouver (as the crow flys) selling wares and food for purchase.
Since 2020, the market on Gambier Island has morphed into a “crawl” to be able to safely distance during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year the market will continue with the crawl concept and take part on Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm, mainly in Gambier Harbour. Everyone is welcome to take part, even well behaved dogs on leash are Welcome! |
Supporting Local
Business & Artisans
There are no stores on Gambier but lots of residents live on island year-round both part time and full time. The need for commerce and an opportunity to buy and sell on island is an increasingly growing demand, and an essential service for the community. The advent of the market has increased local farming and home based businesses as an added bonus.
Today the Gambier Island Farmers’ Market is run by the Gambier Island Farmers Market Society (GIFMS) and involves all local farmers, food vendors, artisans, artists, food artists, and many more, supporting local economies and opportunities to work from home.
